10 year old Findlay Anderson qualifies for Scotland Juniors at the World Championships

10 year old Findlay Anderson has caused the shock of the year in Qualifying for Scotland Juniors.

Findlay was only 9 years old when the trial took place at Rileys, Bridge Place in Aberdeen where he qualified along with Scott Little who is 17.

Findlay was only 7 when he started playing pool and although young is very committeed to his goals, although he has never played in a team before qualifying, his short term goal was to qualify for Scotland. In order to do this he has shown he is ahead of his years in terms of commitment to that goal, practicing three to four times a week. Which if continued could make his long term goal of being World Champion an attainable one.

When his parents were asked how they felt about there son qualifying for Scotland, they answered it in one sentence that said it all.

"We are very proud."

Lets hope that all of Findlays hard work pays off in helping Scotland to a World Title!

From all at sepfjuniors.com we would like to wish findlay and the rest of the Scotland players the best of luck in the World Championships.

Well done to the following players on qualifying for the WEPF World Championships.

Junior Scotland Team:-

James Wishart
Stephen Rafferty
Scott Little
Findlay Anderson
Corey Wilson

After missing the European Championships in February the team is raring to go! Having a mixture of young and old juniors, the youngest being 9 years old (Findlay Anderson) and the eldest being 17 (James Wishart and Scott Little). The team is full of the experience, maturity aswell as the excitement of the younger players which will hopefully lead Scotland Juniors to the title they held in 2003.

If you are interested in representing Scotland Juniors in future events please e-mail sepfjuniors@live.co.uk for more information on qualification.

World Championship Trial, May 2010.
TrialsIn 2003 Scotland Juniors were Champions of the World. We have had many great talents in the juniors throughout the years, with two main players standing out on the International Stage.

Darren Matthew won the Junior World Championships Individual event a record three times.

Pat McCarron carried on Scotland’s winning ways in the Individual event, winning the title in 2006, then winning the individuals in the under 21’s category.

Other players such as Marc and Ryan Fleming have used the experience to further there game in other areas, both are more than holding there own in the prestigious IPA Tour.

Due to several players moving up to other sections within the sepf, there are now new places available within the juniors, to allow the Stars of the future to shine through, and show what they have to offer.
